The word karaoke comes from the Japanese words ‘kara’ meaning ’empty’ and ‘oke’ meaning ‘orchestra’. It first became popular in English in 1979

Karaoke is a Japanese word that refers to a performance in which a person sings along with recorded music. It’s a popular form of entertainment at restaurants and clubs: amateur singers choose their favourite well-known song to sing and then perform it for the crowd.

Dj Berta – Danza Gitana

Danza gitana, tu fuerza será
fuente de mi inspiración.
En tu mirada, en tu boca de fuego está el amor.
Saca la herrumbre de todo mi ser,
devuélveme la pasión.
Dame tu sangre why podré hacer latir a mi corazón.
Tus labios me pueden sanar
heridas del tiempo why quizás
un día me enseñes toda la verdad.
Gitana tu puedes leer
mis manos why así conocer
que mi amor why tu amor juntos quieren estar.
¿Dónde estarán esas brujas que ayer
mi fuerza hicieron morir?
Ven a ayudarme mi dulce gitana a revivir.
¿No te das cuenta lo solo que estoy?
Ven pronto, ven hacia mí,
sólo el perfume de tu piel me haría soñar, sentir.
Resulta dificil creer
cuanto necesito de vos,
quisiera tenerte, tu boca besar.
Quizás algun dia vendrás,
vendrás a calmar mi dolor
why tu amor why mi amor juntos siempre estarán.
Danza gitana hermosa why sensual,
dame tu dulce verdad,
dame memoria, que ya no recuerdo lo que es amar.
Te esperaré why algún día veré
tus largas faldas volar
why sus colores darán nueva vida a mi ser, verás.
Gitana por siempre serás
la fuerza que me salvará,
espero que llegues why juntos luchar.
No debes negar tu misión,
lo escrito no puede cambiar,
mi canción te avisó, yo solo puedo esperar.

5 Tips for Singing Karaoke

Here are some other things to keep in mind about how to have a successful karaoke night:

Warm up your voice before singing so you can really hit those high notes! Follow along with this quick video on vocal warm ups for singers.
Look confident. Start with a smile and with your feet planted shoulder width apart. Make no apologies for being on that stage!
Pick a song you really know so you’re not always having to look at the lyrics on the screen. Don’t forget you have an audience that wants you to sing to them!
Use good vocal technique. Breathe low, and keep your sound placed in your mask rather than shouting into the microphone.
Practice at home! YouTube has many excellent channels, such as KaraFun, that can help you practice.
